"leftovers" card . . . I was sorting thru some scraps and diecuts I didn't end up using on some other projects - I loved this combo, so I stuck it all together to create a mini thank you for my work stash!
santa gave my little grandson a mailbox for christmas, so I've been sending scrap notes to put in his mailbox every few days (he keeps telling his mommy that he "needs more letters") . . . so here is the one I put together this morning . . .
MAKE IT MONDAY
CUSTOMIZING PATTERNED PAPER
stamps: papertrey ink papers: stampin' up dies: papertrey ink embellishment: baker's twine - stampin' up
I'm totally inspired by all of the fabulous watercolor techniques demonstrated by the papertrey ink design team . . . so I inked up my stamps and then touched them to a tray I spritzed with water before stamping them on watercolor paper . . . I love the softness it creates!
stamps: papertrey ink papers: stampin' up, watercolor paper embellishments: washi tape - target valentine products; seam binding - may arts
more of Papertrey Ink's 9th Anniversary fun . . .
Here's the challenge: 1.Create a new card that features nine 1-1/2" squares, each altered in a different way. Mount them all onto a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square card base. 2. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.
And here's my take:
stamps: papertrey ink papers: papertrey ink, stampin' up die: papertrey ink embellishments: washi tape - stampin' up; baker's twine - the pebbles in my pocket; jumbo paperclip
I always do a little prep work prior to Papertrey Ink's anniversary festivities and stamp-a-faire (it really narrows my focus and thus, I become much more productive). The most important thing I do is make a list of projects I need to create and a few ideas for each . . .
I wanted to create something vintage-ish to really make my mother's valentines day gift special (she's 85) so I grabbed my folders of red patterned paper scraps, and the black one, too. I had already decided to make a tag, so I grabbed a tag die, heart die, a stamp set and it's coordinating die - I thought about crocheted lace, but settled on a scrap of wrinkled seam binding.
It just took some trimming and distressing of all the scraps and . . . voila!
stamps: papertrey ink
dies: papertrey ink, stampin' up
embellishments: seam binding - stampin' up; pearl - darice
Unfortunately, I don't have anything in my closet that's "inspiring" in any way, shape OR form!!!! (but I had pinned this cute fabric mini bag, mostly because I loved the color/pattern combo, so this became my inspiration for this challenge)
I loved all of the color recipes, but I wanted to try a color combo I wouldn't normally use, so I chose Melissa's beautiful soft colors. I didn't have exact matches (I'm going to have to order autumn rose, because it really is pretty with the lavender moon), so my card turned out quite bright!
I'm always drawn to pink, so I tried Amy's recipe next because it didn't include pink . . .
